From the compelling collection of their recently published and award-winning book, The Ones Who Remember: Second-Generation Voices of the Holocaust, Rita Benn and Ruth Wade will share excerpts highlighting the gifts and challenges growing up in the shadow of this history. They will invite discussion of their own and the other 14 contributing authors’ different journeys of their lived experience, as well as to the intergenerational transmission of trauma, healing and resilience. Rita Benn, PhD, a co-editor and contributing author to this anthology, is trained as a clinical/school psychologist. She was on faculty in the field of integrative medicine at the University of Michigan and presently teaches mindfulness meditation to patients and their caregivers as well as trains educators throughout Michigan in mindfulness practices.

Ruth Wade, a co-editor and contributing author to this anthology, is a retired training and development executive. She currently volunteers at the Florida Holocaust Museum as a speaker and docent. Ruth also assists her Holocaust survivor father, Sidney Finkel, with his speaking engagements and book Sevek and the Holocaust: The Boy Who Refused to Die.
