If we truly desire to repent and correct the product of our misdeeds, we must first confess to our guilt. For even if we accept the proposition that when we reached the youth they were already "wounded" - why, then, did we ignore the symptoms, our neglect enabling their spiritual predicament to grow out of control? Can a parent absolve himself of responsibility if he ignores a minor, curable wound that subsequently festers and consumes the child's entire body?
