A Very Unique Postage Stamp Exhibition- By Kindergarten and School Children from Tzfat, Hatzor and Rosh Pinna
3.7.2008

by Rachel Ben Menahem, The Virtual Newspaper, Rosh Pinna

Children from Tzfat, Hatzor and Rosh Pinna who participate in the special Partnership 2000 Educators' Exchange project opened a very special postage stamp exhibition on June 2nd in the Godelsky Activities Center and Jewish Agency offices in Hatzor Haglilit. The "stamps" were actually  the original designs and drawings of kindergarten and elementary school children from Tzahar that were done in honor of the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel.

In addition to the three towns here in the Tzahar region, children from our partner community in West Palm Beach, Florida, also designed, drew and sent their own special postage stamps for this exhibition, and they were prominently displayed alongside the work of their Israeli peers.

After the opening event, which was attended by almost all of the children who had drawn stamps, their parents,    local public officials and Jewish Agency personnel, the display remained open to the general public for another week. The children could hardly contain their excitement at seeing their original works of art displayed on almost every wall of the Godelsky Center, and all those who attended the opening ceremony were duly impressed with both the quality - and quantity- of original ideas and beautiful artwork. There is no doubt that this special event was one of this year's highlights for Partneship 2000 in general and the Educators' Exchange program in particular.

Here are links to our P2K blog and to the picture album of the exhibition. Enjoy!
